Main Door is the front entry that serves as the primary gateway to your residence, serving as the primary channel for energy (Qi) to enter your home. It is usually the most frequently accessed area of your dwelling, the main entry / exit point and holds significant importance in Feng Shui principles.
This space plays a vital role in channelling the harmonious flow of energy from the surrounding environment into your property. This is like the mouth of the human body where food enters the body.
Ensuring that your main door faces the correct orientation and resides in a favourable sector is essential for welcoming auspicious Qi and warding off negative energies. Metal objects, gates and fittings are recommended to future proof the effect of Star 2 and 5 on this sector.
Balconies serve as the secondary Qi channel. This is especially critical within apartment or condominium spaces. Balconies sometimes influence on the overall harmony of your home more than the Main door.
When evaluating a prospective unit, it is of vital importance to ascertain whether the balcony resides in a favourable sector. To understand the orientation of your balcony, simply step out onto it and face outward and use a compass to measure the direction. Balconies are similar to that of the eyes on the human body, hence it is imperative to keep this area neat and well lit. Kitchen relates to the woman of the household just as living room resonate to the man of the household. Kitchen is a bustling hub of culinary creativity, where delicious food are crafted, bodies are nourished and cherished memories are shared.

The stove embodies the element of Fire, while the sink symbolizes Water, and their positioning significantly influences the harmony within your space. Wealth, income and stability represented by Star 8 is ideal for kitchen.
Bedroom, where we invest a significant portion of our lives. It is also a sanctuary to unwind and rejuvenate after demanding day at work.
The bed’s placement, the room’s layout, and the presence of additional elements all adds up to the Feng Shui of the bedroom. It’s also advisable to position the bed’s headboard against a sturdy surface, such as a wall. This not only signifies robust support but fosters a sense of deep tranquillity and well-being. Workspace/ Study space is the realm where you invest your time sculpting ideas, creativity, innovations, as well as devising strategies and implementing plans for your business and career endeavours.
The centrepiece of this space is the placement of your study desk and the direction it faces. Working in a harmonious environment can significantly enhance your output and ability to realize your goals. If possible, the nobleman star is a good to have for this room
Pets Dwelling is often neglected by most Feng Shui Masters. Pets is a heavy investment both financially and emotionally. As pet’s well-being is as important as the owners, where the dwellings is located affects both the owners and the pets. Where the pets dwelling are, should be kept near and well lit, there is a need avoid Stars 2, 5, 7 and grand duke.
生氣 – Sheng Qi (贪狼星), Tang Lang Star or Greedy Wolf Star. In five elements, this Qi is Yang Wood. This Sheng Qi may produce new Qi as it name call Qi Generating, so it will bring more wealth, hard work, and good activities. It may also used to activate career, wealth, study, pregnancy, and more. Inside the house, this sector must always have more space to let the Qi circulate and gather then it will generate more good things out. If edit water into it, it will gather the Qi and will make this Qi more stronger.
天醫 – Tian Yi (巨门星), Ju Men Star or Huge Door Star. In five elements, this star is Yang Earth. This Qi is balancing, mean that everything in here is balance. So it good for health, when fall sick then it will recover it back. It also can used it as secondary wealth, but the Qi is not strong still it consider can be use. Suitable for health, ward of bad luck, secondary wealth and sleep.
延年 – Yan Nian (武曲星), Wu Qu Star or Military Art Star. In five elements, this star is Yang Metal. Yan Nian Qi is like flowing toward inside and it will make combine it. So this Qi can be used for longevity, love, relationship and marriage. For elder people can choose this sector to sleep and it will more healthier. For single, can activate this Qi and will improve the relationship.
伏位 – Fu Wei (辅弼星), Fu Bi Star or Assist Star. In five elements, this star is Yang Wood. Last Four Auspicious Qi, this Qi is moving upward and it form like a support. So this Qi is giving a support to everything. Suitable for study, meditating, altar, and activities that need support. So when you study in this sector, it will give you more stability to understanding and meditating, it will more focus to it.
絕命 – Jue Ming (破军星), Po Jun Star or Destruct Army Star. In five elements, this star is Yin Metal. The Qi in here, is like self destruct and it form something like life threatening or endanger. This Qi also can be say as suicide itself. It will cause of sick, emotional, mentally unstable and health issues. It is advise not to touch or activate this sector, else it will bring misfortune to you and your family members.
五鬼 – Wu Gui (廉贞星), Lian Zhen Star or Chasity Star. In five elements, this star is Fire. This Qi is contain of strong brutal, attack and competitive power. It will cause of a lot of misfortune, such as accident, people will brutal, injure, catch fire, and a lot. In 八宅明镜, BaZhai Ming Jing, record that it Wu Gui is very danger and it still behind the Jue Ming. But it still consider very danger.
六煞 – Liu sha (文曲星), Wen Qu Star or Literally Art Star. In five elements, this star is Water. The Qi is flow in downward and after ward it will flow in disorder. Inside here it will destruct the relationship, marriage, career and friendship. It will cause people sex desire, love desire, health issues, relationship problems and so on.
禍害 – Huo Hai (禄存星), Lu Cun Star or Fortune Storage. In five elements, this star is Yin Earth. The Qi is exist in the way of sink, and this Qi will interrupt people feeling and mentally. It will also cause people low spirit and lose of struggle of making progress to success.

The five elements, between heaven and earth, have different states in different time and space. Just as various substances have different prosperity and decline states at different times and environments.
The five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water will have five different states of prosperity and decline at different times and spaces.
The ancients expressed the five different states of the five elements in different seasons as “prosperity”, “phase”, “rest”, “prisoner” and “death”.
旺 “Prosperous” also know as 帝旺, sound is like an emperor, that is in a state of prosperity. Highest point of energy.
相 “Flourishing”, also can be view as “Prime Minister” assisting the emperor, is who is under one person and above all others.
休 “Rest”, alike decline or retirement status, weaken state.
囚 “Imprisoned”, weak, imprisoned or can be view as sickness state.
死 “Death”, lifeless state.
The status of the five elements in different seasons is as follows:
Spring: (February, March) wood prosperous, fire flourishing
Summer: (May. June) fire prosperous, earth flourishing
Autumn: (August, September) metal prosperous, water flourishing
Winter: (November, December) water prosperous, wood flourishing.
This is one method of divination in Feng Shui using the 12 earth branch with 12 officers of date selection to give an estimate of the energy level in each sector of the house / apartment.
This method uses the sitting of the house / apartment as the pivotal point in analysis.
Feng Shui is all about balancing a natural flow of energy called Qi. To have good feng shui is to invite positive energy or Qi into your home.
Feng Shui is not part of any religion or faith system, it is suitable for anyone who applies it.
1. Keeping the main entrance clean – if we see the property as a physical body, then the main entrance is like the mouth, nose and throat area of the human body. Keeping the doorway neat and tidy so you can properly welcome positive energy into your home. The shoes we wear could accumulate foul smell or bad energy and are not beneficial for your home. So it’s best to store these footwear in a shoe cabinet outside as it’ll help shield off unwanted energy.
2. Brighten the doorway – While this yin energy can help one to rest and relax, too much of it can lead to a depletion of positive (yang) energy. This may cause excessive stress, health issues etc. Having a well-lit and brighter doorway stimulates a positive and vibrant outlook towards life.
3. Sofa by the wall – Sofa is a place where we relax and chat with guests, family and loved ones. And having the sofa backing the wall allows us to be more grounded and engages in supportive conversation.
4. About full length windows – may result in overly yang energy in the house resulting in imbalance of Qi. Nonetheless, this depends on the windows to living space ratio. Installing a day curtain would resolve this issue.
5. Living Room – The living room should be just as well-lit as your main entrance so that positive Yang energy can be invited into our home. Usually, the living room should be more lit than the bedrooms.
6. Stove – Kitchen is one important aspect in classic Feng Shui, where it represents health, femine aspect of the house. There’s a few classical theory behind stove position one if which if to place in inauspicious sector facing an auspicious direction. Other deem as a taboo to have stove in NW sector of the house.
7. Sink – In some Master’s perspective, sink and tap are the incoming water of the house. Although it is subjective, its ideally should be face to face with the stove. Even if there is, it’s still not a taboo, we can use potted plants to mitigate or it just means hubby and wife there will be frequent challenges to each other view points — isn’t that differences that make each other fell in love in the first place?
8. Fridge – Similar to stove theory, some Master’s think that the fridge shouldn’t be in the South sector of the house as it meant fire clashing metal or water clashing fire. Some Masters see fridge as water element and some sees as metal.
9. Work Desk / Study Desk – This is the productivity aspect of the Feng Shui, the desk location should be ideally in south, northeast, northwest or west sector (till end of 2044).
10. Less clutter is Good Feng Shui – It would be very challenging for one spouse make the other do the chores. But if less clutters, more space, better lighting, better ventilation and vibrancy allow Qi to accumulate and circulate in the house creates a better Feng Shui space ~ wouldn’t that spouse be more willing to help in the chores. Indeed, one key aspect for Qi to enters and circulate is space, decluttering and lightning.
Xuan Kong Da Gua (玄空大卦) or XKDG in short uses a series of hexagram to invoke certain energy. Simply put, each hexagram has a specific set of numberser and to invoke these energy, one needs to connect the dots — “a number game”.
甲癸申，（贪狼）1: Opportunity and Nobleman 坤壬乙，（巨门）2: Real Estate Wealth 子卯未，（禄存）3: Competition and Risk Taking 戌乾巳，（文曲）4: Academic Pursuit and Relationship 辰巽亥，（武曲）6: Corporate Governance and Authority 艮丙辛，（破军）7: Public Speaking and Communication 寅庚丁，（左辅）8: Cashflow and Career 午酉丑，（右弼）9: Investment and Reputation
Practitioners and Enthusiasts are often confused with this Xuan Kong Poem or Verse that points to a triangulation set up. This triangulation set up is somewhat similar to that of a spell circle in wicca.
From an application aspect, practitioner are often confused with whether to apply water or Qi as well as the “how to” in pinpointing the exact spot to apply the activation.
The key to the power of these energy resides in the 8 stars in Big Xuan Kong (大玄空挨星). And the application sits on the 64 sectors of Xuan Kong Da Gua (玄空大卦) ring.
First, the user needs to have some knowledge of XKDG and be able to determine the current period (upper cycle or lower cycle) we are at and apply the chart. In this XKDG triangulation application, one of the 3 spots needs to be a door or window, this is regarded as Qi Mouth.
In this period 8 (year 2023) and next year onward period 9 (year 2044 till 2063), we would be using lower cycle chart.
In the XKDG ring, the lower cycle chart has 2 sets of number. An upper number that relate to HeTu and a lower number that symbolise the luck period.
Taking Jia Gui Shen – 甲癸申 to trigger 贪狼 – “Greedy Wolf” for example, the upper number need to form a HeTu (16, 27, 38, 49), combo of 5-10-15. After this upper number set is determined, look at the lower number. When in the lower cycle the number 6, 7, 8, 9 is to apply fire or Qi while the number 1, 2, 3, 4 can apply water activation.
Of course, when one activates Greedy Wolf energy, one must be ready to take on new challenges in business or career when being thrown at. Each of these stars and its energy signature also have their flip sides and shortcomings.
This is (in a nutshell) the XKDG spell circle triangulation to activate the relevant energy to support the human activitiy and goals. Instead of doing the spell circle in wicca, the XKDG triangulation activates and draws in a larger amount of energy for manifestation in an enduring positive light perspective.

Explorers of Xuan Kong won’t be alien to one of the literatures called Xuan Kong Liu Fa (XKLF) or also known as the 6 Methods of Xuan Kong.
The 6 Methods of Xuan Kong comprises of 1. 玄空-Xuan Kong, 2. 雌雄-Ci Xiong, 3. 金龙-Golden Dragon, 4. 挨星-Ai Xing, 5. 城门-Chen Men and 6. 太岁-Tai Sui. Of which, the most useful and yet misunderstood is 挨星-Ai Xing.
While some authors downplay the early heaven ring, some Practitioners completely omitted it in assessment.
This 2 rings – Early and Later Heaven basically rooted back to an I-Ching fundamental. 先天为体，后天为用 – Early Heaven as the Body and Later Heaven as Use. Now, replace the word ‘Body’ with the word ‘Link’ and the word ‘Use’ to the word ‘Application’ and it will all be clear in our present context. Below is an abridged explanation for those with affinity to see this passage.
先天为体 (Early Heaven as Link)→Look at the Early Heaven ring (it comprises of a ring of numbers) on the compass to identify if the 2 Gua (卦) or sectors can connect. The key to connect is via combo (5, 10, 15), Same Numerals or HeTu (16, 27, 38, 49). For example, E2 and NE2 (卯 and 艮) is able to pair with 4,9 HeTu combo.
后天为用 (Later Heaven as Application)→ For those Gua (卦) or sectors that can connect, refer to the Later Heaven ring to see if it the Gua (卦) number is 1,2,3,4 or 6,7,8,9. And we apply water or fire activation depending on the period we are in. For example, E2 and NE2 (卯 and 艮) has the number 6 and 7, which is a lower cycle number; hence to apply air flow, Qi, movement, using of that sector or fire in form of candles. As per what the western world call: Direct and Indirect Spirit.
The important key or secret lies in the application of 挨星-Ai Xing resides in above image/ chart, where it narrates the 3 groups of gua (卦). Heaven and Earth Parent Gua (天地父母卦), Thunder and Wind Eastern Gua (雷风江东卦) and Mountain and Lakes Western Gua (山泽江西卦). The key is to use only those Gua that are of the same group. This alignment allows each gua to communicate with each other as they are of the same family. For example, the door is in the Xu-Dog sector. As such, Ren-Water sector can be activated to bring in Nobleman, Reputation and Business Prosperity.
With this the most useful and yet often misunderstood 挨星-Ai Xing application has been comprehensively explained and demystified. When applied with 玄空-Xuan Kong and 雌雄-Ci Xiong, the application of 挨星-Ai Xing will not just be confined to the house layout but be more dynamic.

8 Mansion Feng Shui is both a granular as well as a broad based approach in planning the Feng shui of the house or apartment.
Giving this up and putting the entire sequence on this post so that the lay person can evaluate the Feng Shui Master’s capacity or simply apply this method to achieve mid term results.
Like all other Feng Shui methods and assessment the first cut is landform that is external to the house / apartment. Whether it is benign or hostile. Does it or doesn’t create flows and embrace. Thereafter, we deep dive into 8 mansion formula from broad approach to granular basis.
First, let’s look at the broad-based approach and we gradually zoom in. In this approach the door is the most important factor as the rest of the formula rests on it. Door is where Qi interact between the house and human person, so this method of my uses the door as the first cut. The Stability sector (伏位) starts at door, and using this to map of the other seven sectors of the compass around the house.
As the point of reference behind this method is main door. So, Querent do not need to bother about facing and sitting of the apartment. This is an effective method in urban city living, apartment and condominium selection.

We then move into another level of analysis, knowing what is of the sector means and the representation or challenges got the residence of the room is likely to face all the skill sets that he or she will develop after using that room for a period of time.
Traditionally, there are 4 auspicious and 4 inauspicious in 8 mansion, and usually we ignore or avoid the bad sector. Tweaking the perspective, maybe the bad one are just challenges to improve ourselves. So, not all inauspicious are bad and that the 8 Mansion could also be seen as 8 aspects (palaces) of our lives.
1. Creation & Wealth Palace (生气 – Life Generating), this is made up of growing Qi or energy. It induces your abilities to generate wealth or create wealth (or wealth ideas), some people with wealth come with authorities. This sector also relate about work, the qualities and capacity of your works.
2. Health & well-being Palace (天医 – Heavenly Doctor), this is regarded as the healing sector as well as assistance or support sector. Notwithstanding healing, resources help, teacher, mentor and noblemen are part of this sector. It indicate how well you get support and validation. This is also a wealth sector of salaried employees and business owner as it dictate how fast you turnaround and regenerate.
3. Social Charisma Palace (延年 – Longevity), this sector deals with networking, and the quality of long term relationship. It governs communication matters, connection, affinity, and good relationship helps people live longer, therefore it’s a.k.a the longevity palace.
4. Identity Palace (伏位 – Stability), this sector relates to one’s believe, perception, confidence, mindset and action. This sector is also where we can activate and meet our noblemen (Annual Nobleman and Natal Nobleman).
5. Adventure Palace (祸害 – Mishaps), traditionally this sector is seen as disharmony and disunity, stagnation, hatred and argument. In a contemporary light, this sector is seen as challenges and adventuring. We leave a team because goals changed, dreams differs and we argument because opinions challenges our morals, this is a palace of change.
6. Likeability palace (六煞 – Six Killing), this is related to water stars and it indicates attractiveness, charming, seduction, romance, promiscuity and of course over-indulgence. Which in negative light lead to sins, argument and breaking of relationship. Use this positively, one can become passionate in a relationship and charming to the opposite gender.
7. Spiritual Palace (五鬼 – 5 Ghost), closely related to fire element, fire relates to religious and spiritual connection, as well as dreams, thoughts and inner world guidance. This sector will be good for spiritual pursue and enlighment. Wisdom come from overcoming our inner demons. Because, this sector relates to spiritual beings, that is why traditionally, this sector is call Five-Ghost and deem that things will be stolen or missing or if one is unlucky, one will be seeing energy of another dimension.
8. Trial & Tribulation Palace, (绝命 – Life Threatening), traditionally this sector is not to be used (And, I still maintain this view). The meaning of this sector is that it often triggers important life’s lesson or lives changing lesson. When one is not physically and mentally prepared, it could take a turn for the worst.
We have plan from the entire unit to the sectors and have move on into compatibility of the room to the residence. Next we dive into the scoring method, this is where 8 Mansion becomes granular. The scoring method is meant for tight spaces, small room or work desk/ study table. Depending on how tight the space is, we can either use it to do some work, take some calls, rest, exercise and/ or meditate.
