既濟卦 (Post Completion Gua) 甲寅 (Upper Number 7, Lower Number 9)

既濟卦 (Post Completion Gua) is form by an an upper Kan (坎) Trigram on a lower Li (離) Trigram. This formation is one which shows a perfect balance between the Yin and Yang Yao. This suggests that everything is in its proper place and functioning perfectly.

The feng shui technique I studied was called “Xuan Kong”, a sub-branch of the “flying star” family. It comprises complex formulas and Taoist philosophies, where the stars should move within nine square boxes according to the Chinese calendar, which includes the 24 solar terms and eight trigrams (Pa Kua). I thought I could be in charge of my own life and felt great.

I learned that the flat I owned for less than two years had “bad feng shui”. Because I was in a bad relationship that made me want to commit suicide at that time, I believed that the flat was bad luck and sold it. Thinking that my place had bad feng shui brought a lot of fear and worry, but my life didn’t improve after I sold the flat. Looking back, I was actually cursing myself and inviting ungodly spirits into my life, so that eventually, bad things did happen. It became a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Whenever things turned out the way I wanted, I would give the credit to feng shui. If things didn’t go my way, I would just dig deeper and buy more feng shui objects or make some adjustments, in the hope that I would get it right this time. However, the deeper I got into feng shui, the more my desires grew. I was stuck in a vicious cycle where I was going around and around, desiring more and more. There was no true happiness or joy.

Feng shui just encourages us to idolise Taoism as well as our own pride. When we become so used to taking matters into own hands, we will find it hard to submit ourselves to God and let Him take control of our lives. Feng shui is just another scheme that Satan uses to prevent people from seeing the love and grace of God for themselves.”

Shifting Stars Replacing Palace Method (移星换斗)

In the course of practice, especially with Flying Stars Chart (XKFS) or QiMen Feng Shui (QMDJ), at some point we would come across a widely known method call: Shifting Stars Replacing Palace Method (移星换斗); in layman terms call a ‘Putology’ Method of Feng Shui. The concept is no different from Shifting Lines Changing Gua (抽爻换象) in Xuan Kong Da Gua (玄空大卦) ; summarized as follows, for convenience.

(1) The Method of Shifting Palaces: It is the use of imagery represented by the symbols of Heaven, Earth, People and Gods in the Flying Star Chart to set-up the Feng Shui objects in the corresponding palaces. Resulting in the change in the pattern of the original palaces in order to improve the vibrant energy.

(2) Extraction Method: It is the removal of some items (i.e. removing garbage) of the corresponding Feng Shui elements without changing the house position or the Flying Star Chart, so as to reduce or eliminate the unfavorable factors in the Flying Star Chart.

(3) Addition and Refilling method: It is the adding of Feng Shui Items that corresponding to the elements, without changing the position of the house or the Flying Star Chart; aim to increase the energy level and achieve the effect of enhancing the vibrant energy.

渙卦 (Dispersing Gua) 戊申 (Upper Number 2, Lower Number 6)

渙卦 (Dispersing Gua) – Impermanence is a natural way of life. Nothing survives forever; not even rocks or the most rigid of structures, it gives way to erosion and corrosion. Likewise, all of our obstacles will dissolve in time, over time.

Backed by science, an Entomologist articulate that Dried flowers and other plant materials are a popular way to decorate the home or office. Unfortunately, natural plant products attracts and become the habitat or the food for various insects and pests. While in a Feng Shui (The Spruce) discusses the challenge with a dried flower is to Keep its Energy Fresh and Keeping it Special.

All living organisms go through a nature process of birth, growth, death, entomb and decay process. A plant or flower that is dead and dried no longer have any life force or Yang Energy (陽氣) and given time, Yin Energy (陰氣) will accumulate, that’s why pest are attracted to it. When Yin Energy takes over, the Yin aspect will start to absorb Yang energy in order to balance itself, this leads to a decline in Vibrant Energy or Yang Energy (陽氣) in the property or household.

兌卦 (Lake Gua) 丙辰 (Upper Number 4, Lower Number 1)

兌卦 (Lake Gua) reference with pool, marshes, wetland and rivers. A crossover point (from the safari or dry lands) in which many lush and beautiful plants are able to flourish. It is the place where wildlife and animals gathers for water.

兌卦 (Lake Gua) is form by a double 兌 Duì; gives the image of joy and happiness. The gua reminds us to be be open and have a sincere desire to bring happiness to others. Sincerity and genuine heart are the key to live out this gua.

BaZi Scoring & Life Gua Application

In the course of 4 Pillars or BaZi analysis, one typical question querent would ask is ‘how can remedy my missing element in my BaZi chart, what can I do or what actions can I take?

This is a simple method to share with those who have affinity with this article / post.

First cut, we need to identify the missing element or the useful god in the BaZi chart. This is usually the weakness element in the BaZi chart. The scoring method is extremely versatile for this angle of analysis.

The BaZi branch has the following Hidden stem, score them accordingly to the Main Qi (本氣)，Sub Qi (中氣)，Residual Qi ((余氣). For example Snake 巳, has Bing 丙, Wu 戊, Geng 庚 – Score them as 80%, 15%, 5%; do this for the rest of the characters to work out the percentage for each of the elements.

The lowest percentage means the weakest and that is the needed element in the chart. For example water is the weakest and in the BaZi chart means 正官 – Authority.

Next, we make use of the year of birth to work out the 命卦 – Life Gua number. For example, a female born in the year 1999 would be Life Gua 8 which represent earth.

With this information, plot out the flying star chart for the property or the room. One can use the Period / Annual / Month Chart, depending on the tenure of the effect, the Annual Chart is recommended. Person is Life Gua 8 (Earth), Wood controls Earth = Authority. Look at the 3X3 grid, locate star 4 and use date selection to activate the energy in property / room.
