Jade is the name shared by two distinctly different minerals – Nephrite, a calcium magnesium silicate, and Jadeite, a sodium aluminum silicate. Though they have different compositions, hardnesses, densities and crystal structures, both are exceptionally tough stones, similar in appearance, and equally valuable in metaphysical properties.
Both occur in the beautiful olive shades we’ve come to recognize as jade green, but have some distinctions.
Nephrite generally occurs in creamy white, mid- to deep olive green, brown and black. It has a smooth surface polish with a waxy sheen and is more commonly found.
Jadeite may be a white-gray green, leafy green, blue or blue-green, emerald green, lavender, pink, red, orange, greenish-black or black. It is hard and lustrous, rarer than Nephrite, and usually more expensive.
Translucent, emerald green Jadeite, colored by traces of chromium, is called Imperial Jade and is the rarest and most valuable.
Jade is the stone of calm. Its balances nerves and soothes cardiac rhythm. Jade cleansing properties, enhancing the body’s filtration. Wearing Jade recharges energy, and traditionally believe to guard against illness.
Green Jade balances and harmonizes the Heart Chakra, aiding in both emotional and physical well-being.
The Heart Chakra is located near the center of the breastbone. It regulates our interaction with the external world and controls what we embrace and what we resist. It gives us the balancing ability to be ourselves within the environment.
When the heart chakra is out of balance one may feel either controlling or controlled in a relationship, and become critical of the little foibles of others. One may well find oneself having inappropriately strong emotional responses to everyday external stimuli.
Jade’s green energy is used to resolve blockages and to re-balance the heart chakra, helping one to understand one’s own needs and emotions clearly.
Jade in all forms has always represented nobility, not only of rank, but of ideals. The wearing of Jade assists in creating magic and enchantment works; for the highest good and in protection from harmful or deceitful entities during spirit work.
Jade utilizes wood energy in Feng Shui, the energy of growth, expansion, new beginnings, nourishment and health. It enhances vitality, brings abundance, and keeps us growing physically.
Wood energy is traditionally associated with the East and Southeast areas of a home or room. It is associated with the Family and Health area, and the Prosperity and Abundance area. In the Flying Star aspect, it represents the Academic Star.
Tungsten is a strong and powerful protector, highly resistant to heat and other forms of radiation. It has a core quality of strength in structure in difficult environments, including extraterrestrial environments.
Obsidian is truth-enhancing. A protective stone, it forms a shield against negativity. It blocks psychic attack and absorbs negative energies from the environment. Obsidian draws out mental stress and tension. It stimulates growth on all levels, urging exploration of the unknown and opening new horizons. Brings clarity to the mind and clears confusion. Helps you to know who you truly are. Obsidian dissolves emotional blockages and ancient traumas. Promotes qualities of compassion and strength. An excellent base chakra stone for grounding.
Black Obsidian is a very powerful and creative stone. It increases self-control. It forces facing up to one’s true self. Releases imbalances and negative energies. Black Obsidian is protective and provides support during change. It repels negativity and disperses unloving thoughts.
Ruby Opal resonate with heart and base chakra, encourages passion and a zest for life. Ruby Opal is an emotional stone and reflects the mood of the wearer. Ruby Opal enhances cosmic consciousness and induces psychic and mystical visions. Balances the heart and instills confidence. Ruby Opal encourages positivity, joy, spontaneity, laughter and courage. Ruby Opal encourages removal of negative energies from your path. It intensifies emotions and releases inhibitions. Encourages the expression of one’s true self.
The most common use of Chinese coins in feng shui is for attracting the energy of wealth and money. Another popular use of coins in feng shui is as protection and good luck cure. These energies sure do go together, do they not? When a person achieves financial stability, she or he also feels more protected and, of course, lucky! To use Chinese coins as a feng shui money cure, start by exploring the variety of feng shui cures that incorporate Chinese coins in their design. Next, locate the money area of your home. After you’ve found your money area, find the best way to display your cure in a way that works well with your overall home decor. For example, you can hang your Chinese coins tassel on the wall, you can frame it, or you can simply place it on any appropriate surface (desk, books, etc). It might be helpful to know that you do not always have to display your feng shui cure in plain view; sometimes you can have it hidden.Your feng shui cure will work just as well, especially if you can still see it. This can be the case of having your Chinese coin tassel inside a desk drawer that you use often. Of course, you will have to have an absolutely clean and organized desk drawer! 4. Even so, it is alike a warning sign to the household members so as to avoid or reduce the usage of that particular sector with 5 yellow “五黃” and/or 2 black “二黑” flying stars.
