Grand Duke for 2026 ~ 丙午

General Wen Zhe (文哲将军, 名叫王缜 – 明代,东莞) was revered for his wisdom, clarity of judgment, and disciplined nature. His biography emphasizes his ability to think strategically and make thoughtful, mature decisions, both on the battlefield and in matters of state. He was deified and appointed as a Tai Sui because his life exemplified order, strategy, and righteous governance.

In the year of Hongzhi’s reign (1493), he was awarded the official position of the military department. Wen Zhe sent an envoy to Annan (now Vietnam), and the country of Annan gave him money, but he returned all of it to prevent his identity as an envoy from being tainted. Later, he was transferred to Nanji city to initiate a reformed of the officials and removed the administration’s shortcomings of the past.

When the new Emperor Jiajing ascended the throne and changed the name of the country, Wen Zhe made a statement of ten major things, namely: to correct the fundamentals of the country, follow the virtues of their ancestors, extensively visit the feelings of the people, pay attention to the issuance of edicts, prohibit the extravagance of the court and the wild, seek virtuous talents, sympathise with the poverty of the people, correct folk customs, restore the old system, and pay attention to the lives of the people. Most of these opinions were adopted by the emperor. Later, Wen Zhe was promoted to the secretary of the Nanjing, but he was not allowed to resign as there was a famine in the mainland. Wen Zhe was ordered to relieve the victims. He later died at the age of 61 with an official’s funeral given by the Emperor.

9 Stars in Feng Shui

(贪狼)1: Opportunity and Nobleman
(巨门)2: Sickness
(禄存)3: Argument and Risk Taking
(文曲)4: Academic Pursuit
(廉贞)5: Disaster and Calamity
(武曲)6: Corporate Governance
(破军)7: Theft an Gossip
(左辅)8: Wealth and Cashflow
(右弼)9: Investment and Reputation

In 2026, Bing Fire (丙) comes paring with a Wu Fire (午) roots and its overlaying the south sector that is a Calamity star. This is also the denotes a 羊刃 “Blade” — meaning a knife inflicting injury for the sector during 2026. This double whammy gives an image of Star 9 with too much fuel and exuberance that overheats this sector. The south sector relates to media and investments and when such a calamity happens, the grand duke would step in with more control and governance.

Xuan Kong Playbook – Using Ai Xing (挨星)

This is a slightly complex approach and soon will realise that not all Gua (卦) can be align and move into the next level of application. This 2 diagram are part of the foundation model in Xuan Kong Liu Fa (玄空六法). Instead of going thru the entire theory, we can use this Qi map to enhance our wellbeing in the household. Before going into the Qi map, user needs to be aware of the 3 states: 地元龙 (), 天元龙 (), 人元龙 () – Also known as Earth, Heaven and Man Sector on the compass and must not mixed (Old Literature: 三元八卦只有一卦通). This ring on the compass is not explicitly labeled in most compasses, and needs to be memorized.

How to use Ai Xing (挨星):

  1. Identify the Earth, Heaven and Man Gua (地元龙, 天元龙, 人元龙 → 3 卦) on the compass. i.e. Ren (壬) is Earth (地), Rat (子) is Heaven (天) and Gui (癸) is Man (人) Gua (卦).
  2. 先天为体 (Early Heaven Ring as Link)→Analyse the Facing and Sitting of the property by looking at the Early
Heaven ring on the compass to identify if the 2 Gua (卦) can connect via combo (5, 10, 15), same number or HeTu (16, 27, 38, 49). It must be paired with the Same Gua (卦/ 元龙) of the Later Heaven Ring.
  3. 后天为用 (Later Heaven Ring as Application)→ For those Gua (卦) that connect, refer to the Later Heaven ring to see if it the Gua (卦) is 1,2,3,4 or 6,7,8,9.
    ● If Upper Period (上元) Number 1,2,3,4 to use Qi, Fire, Windows, Doors and 6789 as water placement
    ● If Lower Period (
下元) Number 6,7,8,9 to use Qi, Fire, Windows, Doors and 1234 as water placements

Xuan Kong Playbook – Pure Elements Qi using HeTu (河图)

Pure Elements Qi (HeTu, 河图) – there is no possible earth combination (5, 10) element flying star combination in Xuan Kong. Therefore, Earth palace sits together or follows fire. HeTu combination in Flying Stars cures Grand Duke of Jupiter (TaiSui) or 5 Yellow Stars. (See Below: 4, 9 Combo in Metal Palace 6).

In the above example palace 6 (has a 4, 9 HeTu metal combo in the natal palace of metal. This palace has vibrant metal energy. That enhances Will Power, Leadership and Discipline. In another words, we can assess what is available and use in actual application easily.

Fire: Passion, Vibrant, Energy, Aspiration, Positive Energy, Influence, Passion, Spiritual Energy.
Wood: Growth, Learning, Improving, Transformation, Self Improvement, Healing.
Water: Emotions, Feeling, Better Thoughts (Energy/ Vibration) attracts better reality, Clarity of Mind, Positive Mentality.
Metal: Will Power, Decision Making, Leadership, Discipline, Execution.
Earth: Stability, Security, Confidence, Sustainable Wealth.

Using good sectors and energy in the property can withstand the external killing (Sha Qi / Poison Arrow / Road Clash). Solving external problems with cure or fix is beginner’s view. Improving the energy and aspects of the resident’s life is a more advanced application of Feng Shui (Improve the People, not cure/ fix the problem), it is about taking action during positive times when the annual energy comes in.

All 3 numbers (Period Star, Sitting & Facing Star) in the Natal Chart can be used to analyse if there is a HeTu combination / element.

Using Annual Stars and Month Stars when they come in each year to forms the HeTu combination with the Natal Chart + Original LuoShu element (i.e. a 4, 9 combination must happen in palace 6 or 7 – Metal or a 2, 7 combination must happen in palace 9 – Fire or 2, 7 combination in palace 2, 5, 8 – Earth. However, do note that monthly and annual stars as the name suggests are short term focus.

Flying Stars: East Facing, 105°

This is an east facing apartment, door opens in northwest sector. Single owner staying alone in this apartment.

Star 6 in the main door which will assist the resident with officialdom. While this is suppose to be an auspicious sign, the resident isn’t receiving much corporate assistance because the 7, 2 combination inviting gossips and ailments. This negative combination also resides on the resident’s personal zodiac sign of the rat.

Resident also feedback that he suffers frequent fatigue and injury during his regular workout. This align with the Qi he is reside in his bedroom being 6, 3.

The dining and cooking area is plagued by star 5 and 4. Wood produce fire that increase the negative earth energy.

In period 9 the recommended Qi to receive is south. However, majority of the Qi which the unit is receiving is east and south east which is overall detrimental. There isn’t an optimal approach while I could suggest using a full length curtains to block the east Qi, thus focus on receiving south Qi, it would darken the room and reduces natural sunlight as this is a low floor unit. This is not optimal as it makes the unit more Yin than Yang. As it is low floor unit, even though the work/ study desk look toward the south Qi, the opposite building is partially blocking the unit from receiving south Qi.

Flying Stars: Northeast Facing, 45°

Sharing this interior Feng Shui analysis for this property apartment in NE of Singapore.

Double 9 at facing is good but in 2025 means heavier and larger challenges as annual 5 emperor star dominates the sector of NE.

Using copper, bronze or metallic objects of decoration in 乾 Qian sector (between 310 to 318 degree) to subdue the illness energy of sickness star.

Suggest a theme of metallic loft style with bronze hue finishes for the kitchen. To make good use of the star 8 and 1 and the cooking activities of the kitchen. This will enhance the wealth generation of this household and at the same time not let fire in the kitchen attack the Gua (卦) energy of the youngest daughter in the household.

Using triangulation (丑酉午)to cement the period energy 9 for this property. I recommend opening the window at 25 degree to 35 degree sector (yes, it okay if it open wider into other sectors, better if it lapses onto 50 degree). And the use of crystal placement (sphere shaped citrine) in sector 175 degree to 200 degree. The last corner of triangulation happens to be in the toilet, so instead of crystal placements for this sector, suggest to the owner to install a ventilation fan and windows.

Flying Stars: Northwest Facing, 295°

This floor plan belongs to a public apartment (HDB) in the northeastern part of Singapore. There is no special formation in this chart, hence we need to identify what are the suitable stars to activate to best use the natal energy.

Mountain stars 8 and water stars 1 are locked in the central palaces. Whilst both mountain and water stars 9 are in palace 4 (at southeast), it gives rise to prosperity in the kitchen area and female individuals of the household by the use of water and/or movement. Both instances are naturally occurring human habits (i.e. using the kitchen for food and water).

The facing (i.e. living room, bedroom 2 and 3) is plagued with sickness star 2 which particularly affects the residents of these 2 bedrooms and the male owner of this apartment. The use of selenite ~ 8 pieces, will be able to harmonize the negative effect.

The main door is most affected by the negative energy ~ calamity star 5. The south sector which is denoted by fire qi enhances the negativity energy of this star. Recommend the use of (at least) knee level bronze or copper brolly holders or shoe racks to mitigate.

Breadwinner’s element is water, suggesting that every time he enters the house, goes straight to the master room (put down his stuff) and goes to the bathroom for a shower or if in need of a drink to be seated at the dining table. This sequence is to transmute the earth’s energy to metal to produce water.

About Wu Chang Sect Flying Stars (无常派玄空飞星)

无常 “Wu Chang” refers to Wuxi and Changzhou, two cities in Jiangsu Province, China. This school of Feng Shui is named after its founder, Zhang Zhong Shan 章仲山 (名甫: 字仲山 / 号: 无心道人), a renowned Xuan Kong Feng Shui master from Wuxi.

Zhang Zhong Shan (章仲山) was a notable scholar of the late Qing Dynasty who made significant contributions to the understanding of Xuan Kong (玄空) Feng Shui, particularly by clarifying and simplifying the work of Jiang Da Hong. He is known for founding the Wu Chang Pai (無常派) school of Xuan Kong and for his commentaries on Jiang Da Hong’s writings, making them more accessible.

常州 – 无锡 – 太湖

From the map, Chang Zhou and Wu Xi are located near Tai Hu Lake with Yangtze River in the north. This gives a flavour that the origination and practice of this lineage of Flying Star Feng Shui tend to focus on the use of water over mountain.

The Origins of Xuan Kong Feng Shui, a sophisticated system of geomancy, traces its origins back to Guo Pu of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. His classic texts such as Book of Burial and The Green Satchel Classic laid the foundation for this geomancy practice.

Over the centuries, the knowledge was passed down through influential figures like Qiu Yanhai and Yang Yunsong of the Tang Dynasty, Chen Tuan and Wu Kecheng of the Song Dynasty, Wu Jingluan, Leng Qian, and Mu Jiangshi.

The Rise of the Wu Chang School (无常派) ~ During the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, Jiang Dàhóng acquired the teachings of Wu Ji Zhenren, Wu Tianzhu, and Wuyi Daoren. His successors, including Fan Yibing, Zhu Xiaohe, Yin Yishao, Zhang Xinyan, and Cai Minshan, further developed and refined the system. And later during the Qing Dynasty, Zhang Zhong Shan of Wuxi emerged as a prominent figure, establishing the Wu Chang School of Feng Shui.

Coming to contemporary times, the modern Masters and the wider spread of knowledge. In the this era, Masters like Shen Shaoxun, Kong Zhaosu, Tan Yangwu, Wu Shiqing, Shen Zumian, and You Xuexing (also known as Master Yan Ben) played a crucial role in disseminating Xuan Kong Feng Shui. It was only during this period that the knowledge, previously passed down through secret lineages, began to be publicly documented and shared.

Master Tan, Master Yen Pen, Master Sui Ming, Master Hong Chuan

Master Tan Yang Wu (谈养吾) started practicing and teaching Feng Shui in Shanghai. The examples and case study quoted in the book Er Zhai Shi Yan (二宅实験) have taken roots in Shanghai. While the earlier application of Flying Stars focuses on the relationship between the five elements thru the 81 combinations, Er Zhai Shi Yan (二宅实験) explores the applications of connecting and using these Flying Stars.

This book was later compiled by Master Yen Pen, he covered several provinces in China, Borneo and Peninsular Malaysia. The case studies were analyzed and recorded, making them an invaluable source for research on Feng Shui.

Master Yen Pen arrived in Singapore where he became a monk, later moved between Malaysia and Indonesia. He settled in Cameron Highlands where he ran and manage The Sampo Temple.

Sam Poh Temple, Cameron Highlands

During this time, Master Yen Pen and Master Sui Ming (another student of Tan Yang Wu) met up at The Sampo Temple in the Cameron Highlands, where they discussed the teachings passed on by Tan Yang Wu.

In 1950, owing to health limitations he returned to Penang where he conducted Feng Shui classes. It was during this period that Master Hong Chuan enrolled and learnt Feng Shui from him.

One of his notable student was Master Hong Chuan. Master Hong Chuan shot to fame in 1973 for his feng shui ability to turn around the fortune of Hyatt Hotel back then. Master Hong Chuan was the abbot of Kong Meng Shan Temple in Singapore.

What’s right about Tiger and what’s left of the Dragon?

We often heard of this ‘Mystical‘ Feng Shui model (and often clueless about it) where the dragon side must be stronger than tiger side, a solid and broad mountain as backing so that we are blessed with nobleman’s help (贵人星) and an appealing bright hall (明堂) – symbolizing prosperity and smooth journey ahead.

How do we then measure and assess all that? In this article, I share how I’ve use HeTu (河图) numbers as a yardstick to this demystified this ‘Mystical’ model.

When I apply HeTu (河图) onto this model, the number are divided into 3 layers: 生数,成数,核心 ().

1, 2, 3 & 4 are known as producing numbers (生数) and they form the inner arrangement called ‘body’ – 体.

6, 7, 8 & 9 are known as forming numbers (成数) and they form the outer arrangement called ‘application’ – 用.

5 resides in the kernel and is the separation distance between producing and forming →  e.g. 1 (producing, 生数) + 5 (kernel, 核心) = 6 (forming, 成数).

As such, this draws the distinction between inner and outer arrangement, which gives rise to an important concept where the inner (阴) and outer (阳) arrangements are to be use complementarity (生成合用). This is also known as the layer of 人.

Knowing these numbers aren’t sufficient, as each number is sub-defined into Yin and Yang.

Yin (阴) possesses the properties: Still (静), absorb/receptive (吸收) has a form(有形), internal(内), self (我) and therefore perceived as a ‘body’ (阴体).

Yang (阳) possesses the properties: Movement(動), disperse/radiating (散/發射), formless(無形), external(外), others (他) and therefore perceived as a ‘force field’ known as ‘Qi’ (阳气).

Overlay the Dragon, Tiger, Tortoise, Phoenix over HeTu (河图). This the reason why internally Dragon (Left Side) is Yin (阴) / Quiet (静) therefore favours the external to be Yang (阳) / Movement (动). And on the Tiger (Right Side) is Yang (阳), prefer externalities to be Yin (阴) / Quiet (静).

Yin (阴) is receptive and exhibits an accumulative image. This means habit and specialization are Yin (阴).

Yang (阳) has a ‘kinetic’ nature therefore promotes the ability to innovate and visualize. This means thinking capability and intellectual is Yang (阳).

In summary, could be categorized into 4 broad aspect:
Dragon → Rank, Male, Intellectual, Contemplation, Strategy
Tiger → Career, Female, Habits
Tortoise → Nobility, Elders, Nobleman, Supports, Thinking
Phoenix → Specialization, Friends, Kids, Wealth

7 Star Robbery?

This is a North Facing, low floor, pool view apartment and the owner was under the impression that this apartment is endowed with a special flying star chart call 7 star robbery. And, was told that this special chart will allowed the apartment to tapped on the luck of the future Feng Shui period and become prosperous. Also, the layout of the structure avoided door piercing windows (穿堂煞). Hence, a good property to buy. However, over the years the prosperity in terms of health and wealth were mediocre.

7 Star Robbery – First and foremost, the baseline conditions to fulfill are rigorous and more so in the case of high rise apartments. This is a Special Chart that requires facing towards the South (离). In this case, the apartment is facing North (坎), in terms of Qi it is not receiving the correct cycle. Next there must a link between (离, 震, 乾) early / later heaven 卦 position. There must be a Parent String, double facing star + next period star as the Sitting Star. (why sitting and not facing? – – this is a 无常派 theory). Facing & Sitting Stars are linked by HeTu (i.e. 4, 9 and 3, 8). And, must have water at Robbery Gua (劫曜星).

The master bedroom already plague with below-averaged stars. Although star 4 stimulate learning and academic pursuit, Star 3 as the facing star in Northwest is an Argument, Competition, Risk Taking natured star. And with further measurements hinting the bedeoom is tapping into 5, 2 Qi from the west sector. Without a clarity of mind, and with wealth within grasp suggest the owner taking repeated miscalculated risk in investments. 5, 2 is also a calamity and sickness combination.

And on the landscaping, master bedroom at the northwest sector has a nice clean pool view which (actually) is a detrimental activation of Qi. In application of Feng Shui for lower cycle, Qi in the northwest sector must not be activated by water.

Connecting Early and Later Heaven Trigram as Remedy

This is a high floor/ level, East facing, female owner apartment with an interesting design, noticed the designer’s proposal door is preventing the resident of bedroom 2 from using the toilet. Luckily, there is no other resident/ occupant besides the owner for this unit.

Qi Points deduction — with the period star positioned exactly at the center of the floor plan,  that is the toilet. I’ve to look into other aspect to strengthen the Qi and increase the ‘immunity’ of the unit.

Another aspect of points deduction is that the south and west sector of the unit is missing. As such, the double prosperous stars are missing symbolizing a falling short when it comes to reputation and brand building.

With the master room located at the Southeast sector, this energy is in sync with the owner’s career aspiration — education business. That is a plus point for the unit.

Remedy comes in the use of early and later heaven trigram: Northwest and Northeast sector, namely 戌 and 丑 position to work hand in hand together, thru’ the use of Qi activation methods. In addition, this is coupled with an annual nobleman for 2024 which gives this activation an added advantage

Balancing Masculine vs Feminine Qi

This is a 9 floor/ level apartment and a simple case analysis of Feng Shui. The Southern and southwest sector of the apartment has star 8, 1 and 1. 8 connecting the external water landscaping strengthens the female energy. This formation largely benefits the wife and daughters of this household.

A closer look into the suggest form by the interior designer, with the tiger side of bedroom 2 and Master room stronger, indicates that this would be a women dominance household.

To harmonize the Yang energy, I’ve suggest using a air dehumidifier on position of 乙 to activate the masculine Qi and converting the suggest study area into a home gym corner integrated with the living room spaces. The couple have no intention of having an altar in their living spaces. And is looking for ways to improve their relationship. I’ve suggested the use position / sector 甲癸申 ( 贪狼一路行) to activate the intimacy Qi in the Master room.

Mitigating the Royal Flush of Negative Stars

The resident is a Gua 6, metal element and this is a west facing apartment, with a double 9 on the sitting sector. This double 9 synced with the main door is beneficial opportunity, wealth and career.

The flying stars 5, 4 at the living space is considered as 克出 symbolize success comes after waves of challenges. And the journey isn’t smooth sailing. In the long term view, the resident of the apartment needs to pay attention to health matters.

Incidentally on the bedroom, the main Qi is plagued by 2, 7 couples with base star 5. This is a royal flush of negative Qi. To mitigate this, the recommendation is to link the main door stars to the bedroom with placement of 5 palm sized copper objects in the bedroom. And revising the dining area to Elliptical or Walking Pad/ Treadmill Machine as a physical activation of star 6.

Benefits of an Off Period Flying Star Apartment (Period 7).

Sharing this case on hand to oppose the notion that an off period Flying Star Feng Shui is useless. This is a old apartment build in period 7. Theoretically, this should be a off period apartment that property buyers will avoid. However in period 9, the energy is still  good and auspicious. Due to the timeliness of the formula formation.

First, the main door harness the energy of star 1, 6 and 8. Linking the energy from main door to main bedroom (master room), enhances the wood Qi that later produce fire Qi. Tapping on the benefits of period 9. Also, in period 9, Star 1 is deem as the uprising energetic star (similar to 长生 phrase). Making it one of the optimal star for use.

Both main bedroom and bedroom 2 has mountain stars that are in period and has form a hetu combination. Bedroom 3 is just average, in the aspect of health but favours stable income stream.

The main ills are the living room and kitchen. Especially kitchen in 2024, there the fire frame is creating turbulence (adding oil to fire) in the Annual star 5 at west sector. For the living space, using metallic style deco for dining table and furnishings (i e. 5 bladed ceiling fan) can greatly harmonize the effect.

Breaking Early and Later Heaven’s Water (流破先后天水)

Given that most residential/ high rise apartments are designed with optimal lighting and air circulation in mind, it is likely to be designed and build with north-south orientation in mind.

Assuming the apartment is facing north, and given the orientation of the river direction, there a good chance of getting water flowing between the early and later heaven direction (namely: Northwest and Northeast). We call this 流破先后天水, which is one big ‘No-No’ when it comes to Feng Shui water theory.

Let’s say the owner took a south facing, which is suppose to be ideal from many Feng Shui Master’s point of view, because we are in period 9. However, this will result in the property being backed by water. Which is one aspect we try to avoid in form based Feng Shui.

In this period 9, we don’t want water at the South, West, Northwest and Northeast. Yet, this location collected them all. It will probably be very challenging for those units that are located on lower levels/ floors. But, these water position ideally aligned and ready for period 1.

6 Area of Focus

Main Door is the front entry that serves as the primary gateway to your residence, serving as the primary channel for energy (Qi) to enter your home. It is usually the most frequently accessed area of your dwelling, the main entry / exit point and holds significant importance in Feng Shui principles.

This space plays a vital role in channelling the harmonious flow of energy from the surrounding  environment into your property. This is like the mouth of the human body where food enters the body.

Ensuring that your main door faces the correct orientation and resides in a favourable sector is essential for welcoming auspicious Qi and  warding off negative energies. Metal objects, gates and fittings are recommended to future proof the effect of Star 2 and 5 on this sector.

Balconies serve as the secondary Qi channel. This is especially critical within apartment or condominium spaces. Balconies sometimes influence on the overall harmony of your home more than the Main door.

When evaluating a prospective unit, it is of vital importance to ascertain whether the balcony  resides in a favourable sector.  To understand the orientation of your balcony, simply step out onto it and face outward and use a compass to measure the direction. Balconies are similar to that of the eyes on the human body, hence it is imperative to keep this area neat and well lit. Star 9 that represents fire, promotion and investment is recommended in balconies.

Kitchen relates to the woman of the household just as living room resonate to the man of the household. Kitchen is a bustling hub of culinary creativity, where delicious food are crafted, bodies are nourished and cherished memories are shared.

It is crucial to focus on the strategic placement  of the stove and sink. The stove embodies the element of Fire, while the sink symbolizes Water,  and their positioning significantly influences the harmony within your space. Using plants or a harmonious kitchen’s layout ensures that the elements coexist peacefully, preventing any fire and water conflicts. Wealth, income and stability represented by Star 8 is ideal for kitchen.

Bedroom, where we invest a significant portion of our lives. It is also a sanctuary to unwind and rejuvenate after demanding day at work.

The bed’s placement, the room’s layout, and the presence of additional elements all adds up to the Feng Shui of the bedroom. It’s also advisable to position the bed’s headboard against a sturdy surface, such as a wall. This not only signifies robust support but fosters a sense of deep tranquillity and well-being. Longevity and Heavenly doctor are 2 cherished stars for this room.

Workspace/ Study space is the realm where you invest your time sculpting ideas, creativity, innovations, as well as devising strategies and implementing plans for your business and career endeavours.

The centrepiece of this space is the placement of your study desk and the direction it faces. Working in a harmonious environment can significantly enhance your output and ability to realize your goals. If possible, the nobleman star is a good to have for this room

Pets Dwelling is often neglected by most Feng Shui Masters. Pets is a heavy investment both financially and emotionally. As pet’s well-being is as important as the owners, where the dwellings is located affects both the owners and the pets. Where the pets dwelling are, should be kept near and well lit, there is a need avoid Stars 2, 5, 7 and grand duke.

旺相死囚休 ~ Prosperous, Flourishing, Rest, Imprisoned, Death

The five elements, between heaven and earth, have different states in different time and space. Just as various substances have different prosperity and decline states at different times and environments.

The five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water will have five different states of prosperity and decline at different times and spaces.

The ancients expressed the five different states of the five elements in different seasons as “prosperity”, “phase”, “rest”, “prisoner” and “death”.

“Prosperous” also know as 帝旺, sound is like an emperor, that is in a state of prosperity. Highest point of energy.

10 Simple Truth about Feng Shui

Feng Shui is all about balancing a natural flow of energy called Qi. To have good feng shui is to invite positive energy or Qi into your home.

Feng Shui is not part of any religion or faith system, it is suitable for anyone who applies it.

1. Keeping the main entrance clean – if we see the property as a physical body, then the main entrance is like the mouth, nose and throat area of the human body. Keeping the doorway neat and tidy so you can properly welcome positive energy into your home. The shoes we wear could accumulate foul smell or bad energy and are not beneficial for your home. So it’s best to store these footwear in a shoe cabinet outside as it’ll help shield off unwanted energy.

2. Brighten the doorway – While this yin energy can help one to rest and relax, too much of it can lead to a depletion of positive (yang) energy. This may cause excessive stress, health issues etc. Having a well-lit and brighter doorway stimulates a positive and vibrant outlook towards life.

3. Sofa by the wall – Sofa is a place where we relax and chat with guests, family and loved ones. And having the sofa backing the wall allows us to be more grounded and engages in supportive conversation.

4. About full length windows – may result in overly yang energy in the house resulting in imbalance of Qi. Nonetheless, this depends on the windows to living space ratio. Installing a day curtain would resolve this issue.

5. Living Room – The living room should be just as well-lit as your main entrance so that positive Yang energy can be invited into our home. Usually, the living room should be more lit than the bedrooms.

6. Stove – Kitchen is one important aspect in classic Feng Shui, where it represents health, femine aspect of the house. There’s a few classical theory behind stove position one if which if to place in inauspicious sector facing an auspicious direction. Other deem as a taboo to have stove in NW sector of the house.

7. Sink – In some Master’s perspective, sink and tap are the incoming water of the house. Although it is subjective, its ideally should be face to face with the stove. Even if there is, it’s still not a taboo, we can use potted plants to mitigate or it just means hubby and wife there will be frequent challenges to each other view points — isn’t that differences that make each other fell in love in the first place?

8. Fridge – Similar to stove theory, some Master’s think that the fridge shouldn’t be in the South sector of the house as it meant fire clashing metal or water clashing fire. Some Masters see fridge as water element and some sees as metal.

9. Work Desk / Study Desk – This is the productivity aspect of the Feng Shui, the desk location should be ideally in south, northeast, northwest or west sector (till end of 2044).
