歸卦 (Maiden Gua) pronounce as Guī (pinyin) or in full – 歸妹卦. 歸卦 (Maiden Gua) can also be referred to as the Gua of marriage and it carries a core idea that one cannot control the other in marriage, both husband and wife we must be faithful, soft, yielding and gentle.

歸卦 (Maiden Gua) carries an upper Zhen (震) Trigram and a lower Dui (兌) Trigram. Zhen (震): eldest son of a family would generally hold a higher status in the family and suggest a powerful marriage. Yet, Dui (兌): young maiden is making the moves and taking charge of the relationship (behind closed walls). The middle 2nd, 3rd, 4th vs 3rd, 4th, 5th yao (爻), given an image of water on fire.

While people start to believe that everything should happen immediately (becoming forceful and aggressive), 漸 Gua suggests the story of the tortoise and the hare – slow and steady will win the race. Be patient and diligent, make sure to perform our tasks in the proper manner and never be tempted to cut corners.
