遁卦 (Hidding Gua) or ‘Dùn’ Gua; often written as 遯卦 has an an upper Qian (乾) Trigram and a lower Gen (艮) Trigram. Sometimes when all the odd are against us, the wisest course of action is to take a step back and reflect. This is the key learning point of the thirty-third Gua, 遯 or ‘Retreat’.
遁卦 (Hidding Gua) is like a wise hermit retreating from society, out of righteous indignation, to meditate and reflect on how to build a better world; as active resistance will be no more effective than fighting the tide.
