
Shi Gua (師卦) is also know as ‘The General / Official’. Military campaigns in ancient China is also known as Chu Shi (出師). This Shi Gua (師卦) and Bi Gua (比卦) are often seen hand in hand when it comes to seeing iChing as a philosophy, 師憂比樂.
Shi Gua (師卦), the 2nd Yang Yao (二爻) is in sync with the 5th Yao (五爻), that represents a decisive general. The Yin 5th Yao represents an emperor appointing his general. This symbolism is of the Emperor making the call to arms and ordering the general to step up to take charge of the troops. The Yin and Yang combination between 2nd (二爻) and 5th Yao (五爻) means the general is an extension of emperor; he/ she is fully compliant and never revoke.
師 (General / Official Gua) elements (五行) belongs to Water (水);if the facing / sitting / door of the house or apartment is this Gua (卦), it is suitable for resident with annual pillar Water Goat (癸未), Water Monkey (壬申), Earth Goat (己未), Metal Tiger (庚寅), Earth Ox (己丑), Metal Goat (辛未).
