The Genetic Code Function and iChing Hexagram

The Code Function, I was reading an article on human genetic research. And, was drawn to the canonical genetic code. This code comprised of 64 codons, triplets of the nucleic acid bases. Namely: Adenine, Cytosine, Guanine or Uracil, abbreviated as A, C, G, and U.

In the language of mathematical coding theory the codons correspond with code words; the codons are all 64 three-letter code words that can be made up by the four letter alphabet {A, C, G, U}.

Adenine (A) is a nucleobase (a purine derivative). Molar mass: 135.13 g/mol (9).

Uracil (U) is one of the four nucleobases in the nucleic acid RNA that are represented by the letters A, G, C and U. The others are adenine, cytosine, and guanine. In RNA, uracil binds to adenine via two hydrogen bonds. Molar mass: 112.0868 g/mol (4).

Guanine (G) is one of the four main nucleobases found in the nucleic acids DNA and RNA, the others being adenine, cytosine, and thymine (uracil in RNA). Molar mass: 151.13 g/mol (7).

Cytosine (C) is one of the four main bases found in DNA and RNA, along with adenine, guanine, and thymine. It is a pyrimidine derivative, with a heterocyclic aromatic ring and two substituents attached. Molar mass: 111.1 g/mol (3).

What draws me in is the resemblance of this mathematical table with iChing 64 hexagram – “The Book of Change”. Let’s boldly assign Yin Yang onto these 4 symbol.
   •  U / A = 阳爻
   •  C / G = 阴爻

In the first cell, based on trigram lines UUU and UUA doesn’t this look like Qian Gua (乾卦) and UUC and UUG look like Xun Gua (巽卦). And, if we look at it from a hexagram angle, GGUGGC doesn’t this look like Hexagram 16: Enthusiasm / Delight. 豫卦 (丁亥),震上坤下.

Enthusiasm / Delight that unleashes creativity. Like powerful music that inspires great numbers of people, loosening constraints, breaks walls and sprouting new opportunities. It is guided by the heart than the mind. Represent, an enthusiastic leader who inspires with strong character and positive energy toward a common goal.

Although, it’s just a personal observation, I believe many more theories could be uncover by scholars and researchers to link iChing (易经) with Human Genetics. Perhaps, there is a hint of iChing (易经) – “The Book of Change” is in everyone of us.

I’ll end 2020 with this reflection. And I wish everyone a blessed 2021.

Flying Stars (玄空飛星風水)

An Alternative to Xuan Kong Flying Stars (Nuevo, Xuan Kong Ai Xing)

Xuan Kong Flying Stars (玄空飛星) many have hear before and many more used to practice it. Both as enthusiast and professional.

This method is losing its purpose and it’s charm as the period 9 comes in. A few reasons, one of which (honestly) is that in period 9, the flying stars configuration doesn’t has much special configuration to brag about.

Hence, 2 ways to go about it. Either quickly get a period 8 property / apartment before period 8 is over or upgrade to another method.

As for when is the cut-off and how Period 8 will be over, Is-Subjective and Debatable.

In Chinese Metaphysics, the older the method the better it “Sells”. As such, Practitioners could be going back to XKLF (玄空六法), XKDG (玄空大卦), 8 Mansion (八宅), Purple White Script (紫白訣) or maybe LMBDJ (龍門八大局) etc.

For DXKAX (大玄空挨星), maybe not as well know as XKFS, but is one formal version of flying stars, which doesn’t advocate a period star yet make use of the period star. The strength of this application become more apparent as the property/ apartment gets smaller.

In DXKAX (大玄空挨星), Star 1, 2, 3, 4 belongs to upper cycle (上元) and Star 6, 7, 8, 9 belongs to lower cycle (下元). If sitting is align with period, the star flies in clockwise direction. If it is out of alignment with period it flies in anticlockwise.

For example, currently year 2020 is considered as is lower cycle (下元), a North sitting property / apartment “子山午向”, so Star 3 enters the center palace and flies anticlockwise. Star 8 lands at South palace which is the facing of the property / apartment. So, 8 enters center palace and continue flies anticlockwise. Then, the you will end up with 2 numbers in each palace, somewhat similar like the conventional Flying Stars.

Depending on each Practitioner, sometimes the facing Star is disregarded and substituted with annual star.

Facing (向) relates to wealth, businesses and career.
Sitting (山) relates to health, relationship and offsprings.

In this post, I’ll suggesting another way to apply DXKAX (大玄空挨星) vs the traditionally known flying approach.

First, disregard the upper and lower period; don’t get confuse. Next, is to substitute the above numbers onto the 24 mountain on the earth ring (地盘) of the LuoPan. Some LuoPan already has this ring given, usually after the Earth Plate, called Ai Xing Plate (挨星盘).

Thereafter, apply the XKDG (玄空大卦) principles to assess and plan out the ideal 龍, 山, 向, 水.

In a Traditional LuoPan (罗盘), the more important the formula or information, the closer it is to the center of the plate. Perhaps, this was why that ring was there on the Traditional LuoPan in the first place.

Winter Solstice Celebration (冬節, 冬至 or とぅんじ)

Winter Solstice Celebration (冬節, 冬至 or とぅんじ) is one of the most important Chinese and East Asian festivals celebrated by the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, and Vietnamese during the solar term or solar cycle.

In wiccian practices, this is called Yule. This is the longest night of the year. Following that is the sun’s “rebirth” and lengthening of days. Yule is celebrated as the rebirth of the Great God, who is viewed as the newborn solstice sun. In some traddition, Yule is considered to be the beginning of the new year.

In Chinese, the origins of this festival can be traced back to the Yin and Yang philosophy of balance and harmony in the cosmos.

After this festive celebration, the days will begin with longer daylight hours. Hence, is seen as an increase in positive energy flowing in. This philosophical significance of this is symbolized by the I Ching hexagram “Returning” (復) :冬至一阳生.

This is the cut off point in various Feng Shui (風水) Practices and QMDJ (奇門遁甲) Divination. i.e. 5 Yellow (二黑), 2 Black (五黃), 7 Red (七赤), Yin Dun (陰遁), Yang Dun (陽遁).

In iChing (周易) “Returning” hexagram represent a turning point recharges people and eventually brings success. This hexagram is associated with the turning of darkness back towards light. This is a time for letting go of the old and making way for the new; a time of new beginnings.

A new momentum in the beginning is alike the conception of baby. Mummy knows, but she doesn’t talks about it until some visits to the gynaecologist. Because, it needs to be as subtle as possible, the energy or life force is forming, accumulating, recharging and growing. This principle of hibernation means allowing energy to renew itself and be strengthened by rest; and it applies to many situations: recuperation after an illness, the slow return of trust after a period of estrangement, the careful development of new relationships after the splitting apart of old ones.

Health and lifestyle wise, this means, limiting strenuous activities such as vigorous exercise in favor of more gentle and nourishing spiritual and physical activities such as yoga, tai chi, stroll, walks and meditation.

Resting earlier and sleep in a little later is important to help preserve their Qi (氣) for the more active time of year- spring and summer. Yang is also preserved by keeping warm.

This Winter Solstice is a significant one because the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter ( So, if your apartment or property is Ox (丑) Goat (未) – sitting (坐) facing (向). This is one of the best time to do space cleansing and recharge your apartment or property energy. Because, house Qi (氣) gets depleted as resident stays in it.

Slower down your pace and take this season to view this rare conjunction. Even if you cannot view the conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter, take this December opportunity to spot the “3 Wise Man” in the constellation of Orion, or Sirius is the brightest star (approx 8.61 light years, coincidentally 1, 6, 8 are 3 good number to use in Feng Shui) in the night sky in the constellation Canis Majoris. What were the “3 Wise Man” seeking near the time of Christmas and what is the representation of the brightest star in the night sky.

A glass of wine in hand, with love and gratitude, I, hereby give a toast for the people who have help me in action, in words, in prayer and in thoughts. This pour is for you, because you were presence, my 2020 was awesome.

I wish everyone Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year.
