Annual Feng Shui Audit

A house is an energy or Qi (氣) tank. Over time the residents in the house consumes the energy. 2 things happen when good energy are being consume:
1. The residents became mindful, well rested and at harmony. Good thing happen, marriage is blissful and career / business tends to prosper.
2. The house energy (宅體) became weak after the residents reside in the house; and become susceptible to annual affliction, ShaQi (煞氣) and Form School disadvantages (形家缺點).

In an Annual Feng Shui Audit, one guiding principal of Practitioner is using auspicious while avoiding the negatives (趨吉避凶). Sharing some of the common annual affliction factors I would personally look at.

Heaven Factor:
Purple White Star (紫白訣) is a common Feng Shui concept for plotting the house / property sitting and facing. This methodology is effective in looking at the Auspicious and Inauspicious stars for the year. The 4 stars which raises concerns are 5、2、7、3. Most commercial practitioner would make use of 4 Feb or 5 Feb as the time these stars sets in. I personally adopt the period after winter solstice as the commencement of stars effect on the residents of the house / property.

Earth Factor:
TaiSui (太歲) where the Grand Duke Jupiter is seated, it is believe to have an affliction if the house / property faces it. This position is call the Year Breaker (歲破). For example 2020 TaiSui is Rat (庚子), which clashes horse (午). So, if the house /property sitting is such, health risk and safety concerns would be higher. TaiSui sets in on Spring (立春), 4 Feb or 5 Feb. In my practice, I extend the assessment using San He (三合), for example monkey, rat, dragon (申子辰). Once plotted TaiSui, BaZhai (八宅) method can be use to give a flavour of which residents is at risk.

3 Killings (三煞) and (向煞), using the elements. The 3 Killings, span across 90 degree. Ideally, no renovations works should be carried out in this sector. 3 Killings (三煞) is deem as higher risk than (向煞). This sectors needs to be quiet, it tends to trigger disaster, injury or wealth loss when it become noisy or active.

The 4 Deity or Officials (奏书、博士、力士、蚕室) accompany TaiSui (太歲) for the year. Of which, 力士、蚕室 are the troublemakers. And, it creates havoc when paired with star number 5.

5 Tiger Killing (五虎煞) is plotted using TaiSui (太歲). The sector with Wu and Ji Earth (戊、己) is afflicted. Should that sector has external landform or Sha Qi (煞氣) in terms of Form School, the impact of the Killing is greatly enhance.

Using BaZhai (八宅) method, the Practitioner can assess based on Life Gua (命卦), which residents is more at risk when all these Sha Qi (煞氣) comes in.

Auspicious Sector Assessment wise, the BaZhai (八宅) method and Purple White Star (紫白訣) can be use by enhancing (催) auspicious Gua sector and positive stars 1, 6, 8, 9, as well as Annual Gui Ren (流年貴人) and Annual QiMen (流年奇門) are sectors I would consider. Other classics denote the use of Annual Wealth Sector (流年財位) and Annual Academic Star (流年文昌). Nonetheless, there are cases where none criteria could be met.

In my personal opinion and based on experience, 1 negative sector in the house /property is alike an infection and need 3 good boost of immunity (三吉方) to break even / overcome.

Of course, all mentioned above are very basic annual assessment and remedy, there are also mid to long term setup. It would seems pretty painful, doesn’t it?

As Annual Feng Shui is a equivalent to Qualitative Risk Management, one question comes to mind would be; has the Feng Shui Master you work with during last year assessment did all this and more?
